Ganado Unified District

Description

Welcome to Ganado Unified School District No. 20! Located in Ganado, Arizona (Apache County) on the Navajo Reservation in northeastern Arizona, we proudly serve students in PreK through high school. We hold traditional Navajo culture and values close to our heart and are dedicated to ensuring that our students learn about their culture and ancestry. Our administrators and staff members are truly life-long learners, leading the way as examples for our students and our community. We provide the best possible instructional services for our teachers and students, including cutting-edge technology in every classroom. The middle school and high school athletic programs teach students personal responsibility and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. And we partner with our community at every opportunity, planning and supporting events that enable nearby residents to take advantage of our school facilities. Our public school district includes four schools: Ganado High School, Ganado Middle School, Ganado Intermediate School and Ganado Primary School, with two of our schools being National Blue Ribbon schools. Ganado Primary School is known for effectively using a holistic approach to language and culture and as "one of the best examples of a school culture that supports professional development". Nearly 100 percent of the students in the district are Navajo, who speak Diné as their native language. Small-town charm, close-knit community, and cultural heritage all describe the feel you will get if you visit Ganado. Located in Apache County, in the northeastern corner of Arizona, Ganado is a chapter of the Navajo Nation. Dubbed one of the most advanced communities in the Navajo Nation, Ganado High School works in collaboration with Northland Pioneer College, Dine College and Coconino Community College and offer dual enrollment to our High School students. Agricultural parcels dot the landscape, and nearby ranches supply great sources of organic beef and mutton.
