Juneau Borough School District

Welcome to the Juneau School District in Alaska's Capital City. We hope that you will become acquainted with our talented staff and students through your exploration of our website. The Juneau schools serve 5,700 students in Alaska's Capitol City. There are six elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools in Juneau. We also have a Charter School for grades K-5, a Montessori Program, and an Alternative High School. There are over 600 certified and support staff working as a team to support our students in the obtainment of nine educational goals. This district has been committed to increasing student achievement by adopting clear content standards in academic areas and "expecting the best" from all of our students. Four strategies for school improvement have been established to support the district's mission.
