Mid-Del School District

The Midwest City-Del City School District located immediately east of Oklahoma City, provides a comprehensive educational program for over 14,000 students. The district attracts the finest teachers available because of location, facilities, commitment to education, and a salary schedule which is one of the highest in the state.

The Board believes that every person in a democratic society should have the opportunity to achieve his/her potential thereby allowing him/her to participate effectively in that society. Therefore, it becomes our responsibility, as public educators, to provide for each child both opportunity and encouragement to acquire mastery of basic skills, habits, and attitudes associated with responsible citizenship. We believe that each child is a unique entity - ready to learn at different times and in different ways - who will grow and develop emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually in an environment conductive to learning. Quality education makes provision for each student's special interests, abilities, and needs and allows achievement at his/her optimum capacity. Our task is to accept each child as he/she is and then, by planning experiences within his/her ability, guide him/her as far as possible in his/her quest for information, understanding, and skills.
