Description
Named for the Locust Tree which thrives naturally in this part of Green Country, Locust Grove offers history, recreation, exceptional Native American art, and more... Located at the southern end of Lake Hudson, just below Robert S. Kerr Dam, the town was once the site of the Civil War's Battle of Locust Grove. A few miles east of Locust Grove stands the historic Saline Courthouse, the only remaining of nine identical structures built by the Cherokee Nation between 1884 and 1888.
