Description

Claremore, setting of the classic Broadway musical, "Oklahoma" is located in Rogers County, Green Country of northeastern Oklahoma, approximately 28 miles northeast of Tulsa. Our current population is estimated around 16,800. Claremore is easily accessible to major highways, railroads, airports, Port of Catoosa and the Oologah Lake. State hwy 66, the legendary "Route 66," runs north and south through Claremore, and State Hwy20 and State Hwy88 also run through Claremore. Downtown Tulsa is only 25-30 minutes to the southwest via the Will Rogers Turnpike, I-44. Claremore is best known for the World known humorist, philosopher, movie star, roper and writer - Will Rogers, America's most famous Indian cowboy born in 1879, north of Claremore in Oologah.
