Little Miami is a rapidly growing district that has set high academic standards for its students who plan on college, entry to military service, vocational fields, technological fields, or fine arts as their career of choice. LM enrolls 150+ new students per year. A new building and additions to three of our current building are direct responses to this growth. LM has approximately 5,150 students and 540 staff members. It is located within 30 miles or less of both Dayton and Cincinnati which provide numerous opportunities for entertainment and dining. It is also in close proximity to Kings Island and shopping areas. LM is a community that is actively involved and engaged with its schools. LM actively recruits highly qualified teachers. The Little Miami Board of Education believes that it is the responsibility of the school system to ensure that each graduate is college and career ready. To these ends, an environment of high expectations and opportunity shall be created that fosters scholarship and citizenship and develops within each student the ability to become a productive and responsible member of society. The Little Miami Board of Education has established goals to support the district's core beliefs: develop an environment of high academic expectation that maximizes each student's potential and opportunity for learning, develop in each student the ability to apply learned skills and knowledge related to college and career readiness, develop each student's ability to become a responsible and productive member of the community. The Little Miami Board established four objectives for meeting its goals: foster a district-wide culture that demands high levels of achievement, embraces student accomplishments and provides a safe, secure environment for all students; partner with community stakeholders to facilitate improvement efforts, identifying needs and defining solutions; provide high-quality customer service to all stakeholders; and use existing mediums to provide communication to inform stakeholders and encourage feedback.
