INTERVENTION SPECIALIST IN A SELF-CONTAINED CLASSROOM AT THE HIGH SCHOOL - ANTICPATED OPENING
Qualifications: College or university degree(s)

The qualified applicant should have:
Experience with creating individual daily schedules in conjunction with related services.
Experience with ABA or Behavior Management / Writing data driven behavior intervention plans.
Experience with using and implementing Assistive technology for communication ie; AAC, PECS, Assistive Technology Domains
Strong technology skills and Experience using Unique Learning for instruction
Willingness to work and delegate to multiple paraprofessionals.
Experience with Extended Standards and preparing students for participation in the Alternate Assessment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Training and knowledge of TEACCH model preferred or willingness to participate in the certification process.
Follows the Board policy and administrative procedures.
Ensures the safety of students in accordance with Board of Education policy.
Demonstrates professional growth through proper maintenance of certificates.
Follows the prescribed district standardized test and C.B.E. Objectives, district curriculum and state requirements.
Maintains records of student performance, and reports student progress to parents and/or legal guardians.
Diagnoses the learning needs of all students on a regular basis and gears intervention to address their identified needs.
Uses instructional techniques, available material, and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the students involved.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District. In addition, the employee shall be free of any substance, prescribed or otherwise, that impairs the employee’s work performance or the safety of others while on duty.
