Description

DPS consists of eleven schools governed by a board of 5 members: 1 High School, 1 Alternative High School, 1 Middle School, 6 Elementary Schools, and 2 Online Schools. We have about 4100 students enrolled in Grades K-12. Our average class size for Elementary is 21 students. Special Education Students account for 15% of the student population. We have 140 English Language Learners, speaking 24 different languages. Our Middle and High School students are offered almost 190 courses and over 40 extra and co-curricular opportunities including music groups, academic competitions, and sporting activities. Our staff is offered a comprehensive benefit package which includes: health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, and various discounts. Our teacher salary is one of the highest in the state of North Dakota. The salary range per the 2021-2022 Professional Negotiated Agreement is $46,000 - $75,276. All Dickinson Public Schools operate as Professional Learning Communities and implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. All schools are accredited by AdvancED, a non-profit organization that conducts rigorous reviews of K-12 schools and school systems. Since 2009, DPS has grown by over 1,200 students. While growth has slowed, we are projecting an increase of almost 500 students by 2023. Our goal is to continue to hire team members who are well-educated and inspired to sere all students. Dickinson is one of North Dakota's fastest growing cities located on the Western edge of the state.
