Description

Stokes County Schools is made up of 18 schools which includes Pre-K through Grade 12. The district also has one alternative setting school for grades 7-12. There are presently 3 high schools, 3 middle schools and 11 elementary schools. The student population districtwide is approximately 7500. The district is centrally located in the northwest section of North Carolina just west of the piedmont area. It is a rural area, but rich in its natural beauty and many cultural activities. It is located less than an hour's drive from an international airport, plus conveniently located to urban cities such as Winston-Salem and Greensboro for shopping and a variety of dining to suit every taste. The district has the advantage of many universities and community colleges that are located less than an hour from Stokes County. It also is only 4-5 hours from some of North and South Carolinas best beaches. The district has consistently done well with its academic achievement due to dedicated employees, parents, and community people who believe in cooperatively working together to provide lifelong learning opportunities for all students.
