Description
Polk County Schools is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina. The system has six schools and approx. 2600 students. In 2003-04 all schools met 100% of the Federal AYP goals. Based on NC testing program, three were designated Honors Schools of Excellence and three were Schools of Distinction with High Growth.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Polk County Schools, in partnership with parents and community, is to prepare and inspire each student to be a literate, responsible, productive member of a diverse society who believes learning is a lifelong process.
