Description

Pender County Schools are among the fastest growing school districts, by rate, in the state of North Carolina. Though the district is classified as low wealth and high poverty, students continually exceed local and state performance on North Carolina End of Grade and End of Course tests. Our district is made up of 19 schools within the attendance area. The district has 8 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 3 high schools, an Early College High School and 1 Innovative Academy. Pender County Public Schools provide a first class education for approximately 9,300 students in a rapidly growing county. Our 19 schools are located in a diverse array of suburban and rural communities, and serve students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Each school day over 1,400 employees work to provide an environment that capitalizes on all children's natural curiosity, nurtures their desire to learn, and respects their individual learning style. Our goal is to help children become productive members of society. • 9,800 Students enrolled in 19 schools • 110 National Board Certified Teachers • 725 Certified Teachers
