Description
Athens Independent School District serves approximately 3,400 students on 5 campuses or special school settings. Located southeast of Dallas and west of Tyler, Texas, Athens reaps the benefits. Approximately 462 teachers, administrators and support staff serve the district which has an annual budget in excess of $24 million dollars. The budgeted per-pupil cost, based on average daily attendance, is almost $7,000. The district wide attendance percentage continues to be in the high 90's.
