Art Teacher

Job Summary:

This position is for Art Teacher positions at Washington Elementary School for the 2025/2026 school year.

Qualifications/Responsibilities: 

  • Ability to teach various art forms and techniques.
  • Digital Art Tools: Familiarity with digital platforms to enhance learning.
  • Lesson Planning and Curriculum Design: Developing age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with educational standards.
  • Classroom Organization: Maintaining a structured and safe learning environment.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Evaluating student progress and providing constructive feedback
  • Implementing creative projects and activities.
  • Adaptability: Adjusting teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Integrate play-based learning and hands-on activities appropriate for early learners.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using formative and summative assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student achievement.
  • Prepare report cards and communicate regularly with families about student growth.
  • Establish a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Teach and reinforce behavioral expectations and routines.
  • Support students’ social-emotional development through guidance and modeling.
  • Collaborate with grade-level team members to plan units and align instruction.
  • Serve as a grade-level lead, coordinating planning and supporting team initiatives.
  • Work closely with support staff, specialists, and administration to support student needs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers through meetings, newsletters, and digital platforms.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
  • Participate in school-wide professional development and staff meetings.
  • Uphold school policies and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
  • Maintain a well-organized and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
  • Prepare materials and resources in advance to support smooth instructional flow.
  • Establish a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Teach and reinforce behavioral expectations and routines.
  • Support students’ social-emotional development through guidance and modeling.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers through meetings, newsletters, and digital platforms.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
  • Uphold school policies and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
  • Maintain a well-organized and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

Stipend/Salary: 
REA Salary Guide Range 
BA: Step 1 $57,828.00- MA+30 Step OG1 $104,576.00
