Description
The Monroe County School System serves approximately 5,500 students on twelve campuses in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. Our motto, “Education for Tomorrow – Today,” affirms our belief that education provides the best avenue for a bright future for the youth of our county. Monroe County is a predominantly rural county nestled into the foothills of the Cherokee National Forest and the Smoky Mountains. We are blessed with an abundance of wildlife and beautiful mountains. We are the fifth largest county in area in the state and includes the towns of Madisonville, Sweetwater, Tellico Plains and Vonore. We are home to Tellico Lake, Hiwassee College and are populated by a friendly people who have high values and integrity.
