Position Overview: South Park Middle School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and skilled Middle School Head Football Coach to lead our middle-school 8-man football program. As a small-town school with a strong sense of community pride, we are looking for a coach who is not only committed to athletic excellence but also values relationships, character development, and mentorship. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the football program, including coaching student-athletes, organizing practices, building student character development, and fostering a positive and competitive team environment. The ideal candidate will prioritize skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a commitment to student-athlete success both on and off the field.
Primary Responsibilities: *Lead all aspects of the middle school 8-man football program, including practices, games, offseason conditioning, and team development. *Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team culture aligned with the school’s values and expectations. *Build relationships with student-athletes, families, school staff, and the broader community. *Teach the fundamentals of 8-man football with a focus on safety, sportsmanship, and skill development. *Develop game strategies, analyze film, and prepare scouting reports. *Collaborate with assistant coaches, athletic department, and school administration. *Oversee equipment inventory, uniform care, and field preparation in coordination with the athletic department. *Ensure compliance with school district, league, and CHSAA (as applicable) rules and policies. *Serve as a mentor and role model, emphasizing academic achievement, citizenship, and teamwork. *Coordinate with high school coaches to help support district program development.
