Para Educator
Description
The Para Educator will support classroom instruction and assist students with diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive and effective educational environment. This role is vital in providing individualized support to students and helping teachers implement instructional strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support: Assist the lead teacher in delivering lessons and instructional activities to students, including small group and one-on-one instruction.
Student Assistance: Support students with learning activities, including managing classroom behavior, helping with assignments, and providing encouragement.
Specialized Support: Work with students who have special educational needs or disabilities, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and modifications as directed by the lead teacher or special education coordinator.
Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, including managing student behavior and ensuring classroom materials are organized and accessible.
Assessment and Monitoring: Observe and track student progress, providing feedback to the lead teacher and assisting with assessments and evaluations.
Communication: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to support student success and address any concerns or needs.
Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties such as preparing instructional materials, setting up classroom equipment, and maintaining student records.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational practices and strategies.
