US History Teacher Model UN adviser

Part-Time US History Teacher Layton Christian Academy in Layton, Utah is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable part-time US History teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This position involves teaching 3 sections on Tuesday, Thursday, and a partial day on Friday, with the potential to also teach an AP US History section and serve as the faculty adviser for the Model UN club.

Responsibilities:

Plan and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Utah State Core Standards for US History courses Create a classroom environment conducive to active learning and student participation Utilize effective teaching strategies and methodologies appropriate for high school students Assign relevant coursework, provide constructive feedback, and evaluate student progress Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues For AP US History: prepare students for the AP exam through rigorous instruction For Model UN: guide students in understanding UN protocols, research, and diplomatic simulations
