Job Title - CREW (Study Hall) Aide

Description


CREW period (Study Hall) is designed to provide a quiet environment for students to study and work on assignments from other classes. As the supervisor of these classes you will be expected to establish and maintain a positive learning environment that has high behavior expectations, maintain student attendance and grading records, communicate with parents, teachers, students, and faculty.
 
Essential Job Functions

  • Monitors student behavior for the purpose of ensuring a proper leaning environment for students. 
  • Supervises assigned students within the classroom during regular school hours. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. 
  • Maintaining attendance and grades for students enrolled.
  • Tutors students on assigned class work for the purpose of providing ongoing support in the completion of work assignments.
  • Maintains high standards of education; shows interest in a student's progress; and encourages critical-thinking, analytical and creativity skills.
  • Needs to be patient, kind and fair to students.
Additional Duties: Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Equipment
Use standard office equipment, such as personal computers and copiers.
 
Travel Requirements
Travel between schools, or between schools and central offices, may be required for certain positions.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed. 
  • Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel). 
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work. 
  • Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required. 
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment
  • Works in standard office and school building environments.
Qualifications Profile:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years or older. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Prior successful clerical experience preferred.


Contract: 
29 hours per week-Equal pay
Support Professional Employees Salary Schedule, E1
