Job Title: K-8 Special Education Teacher at Mountain Sunrise Academy Charter School
Location: Mountain Sunrise Academy
Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team, providing essential support to students with behavioral and developmental needs.
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Tailor educational plans to meet each student’s unique needs, ensuring they align with Waldorf education principles.
Collaborative Planning: Work closely with general education teachers, parents, and specialists to develop strategies that support students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
Differentiated Instruction: Adapt the Waldorf curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles, ensuring all students can access and engage with the material.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct regular assessments to track student progress, adjust IEPs as necessary, and communicate progress with parents and staff.
Behavioral Support: Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) to promote a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Parental Involvement: Engage parents in their child’s education through regular communication, meetings, and collaborative goal-setting.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in Special Education and Waldorf pedagogy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
Experience working with children with diverse learning needs, preferably in a Waldorf or holistic education setting.
Strong understanding of child development and learning disabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team and build positive relationships with students and parents.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning about Waldorf education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with or knowledge of Waldorf education.
Additional certifications or training in special education or related fields.
Experience in implementing IEPs and BIPs.
