TITLE: Grants Accounting Clerk
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide accounting support for State and Federal Grants, including budget preparing, cost analysis, records management and report preparation.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide accounting support for State and Federal Grants, including budget preparing, cost analysis, records management and report preparation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)
- Analyzes, prepares and monitors State and Federal Grant budgets.
- Prepares monthly reports and budget spreadsheets for school sites and departments.
- Types Federal and State Grant purchase requisitions; provides detailed information to the Finance Department.
- Meets with principals, department directors and administrators to review Grant budgets. Attends meetings and coordinates information with outside grant writers.
- Prepares and submits cash management reports, journal entries and invoices for grant reimbursement.
- Reviews and signs Federal payroll request forms, prepares and submits completion reports, grant applications and amendments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Knowledge of fund accounting, budget development and fiscal management.
Knowledge of grants management and reporting.
Knowledge of purchasing and accounts payable.
Knowledge of computer office equipment and computer hardware and software operations.
Skill in operating computer hardware and software applications, including spreadsheets.
Skill in performing accounting duties and analyzing and preparing reports.
Skill in communicating both verbally and in writing.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An Associate’s Degree in accounting, finance or a related field; and three (3) years work experience in fund accounting, budget development and fiscal management; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that provide the required knowledge and skills.
