Reading/Language Arts Teacher
Must hold a certificate issued by Florida Department of Education.
The certificate must be in one of the following types: Professional Certificate, Temporary Certificate, Statement of Status of Eligibility.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: English, Reading, Reading/Language Arts.
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th.
The certificate status must be active.
Teaches skills, concepts and social competencies to middle school students. Plans a program for individualized and group instruction based on identified long-range goals and specific objectives. Uses a variety of techniques and materials to instruct and motivate students. Uses appropriate technology in the teaching and learning processes. Uses appropriate classroom management techniques. Confers with the student, his/her parents, and the principal and/or supportive personnel regarding the student’s academic and social development. Maintains required records. Applies knowledge of child growth and development. Evaluates student achievements and uses data for continual improvement. Assists in enforcement of school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies. Takes all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Participates in professional development activities. Performs other related duties as required.
