Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid NJDOE K-12 Instructional Certificate with a NJDOE Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSWD) Endorsement or NJDOE Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) Certificate, NJDOE School Social Worker Certificate, or NJDOE School Psychologist Certificate.
- Demonstrated successful experience working with students with special needs; experience working with multiple secondary grade levels preferred.
- Strong knowledge of effective individualized transition planning, life skills, work-based learning, curriculum design, assessment, differentiation, student supports, and classroom management.
- Ability to use assessment data, student work, and other instructional evidence to monitor progress, differentiate instruction, and support diverse learners at the high school level.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with high school students, families, colleagues, counselors, and administrators.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70).
