Description: Shakopee Public Schools is searching for a Long Term Substitute (LTS) Special Education Teacher, Center Based DCD/ASD Program (1.0 FTE) to join the team at Shakopee High School from approximately November 10, 2026 through December 22, 2026. Job Summary: Responsible for delivering direct and indirect services to students with learning and/or social, emotional and behavioral needs; monitor and document student progress; develop/manage IEPs and facilitate team meetings; oversee paraprofessionals and collaborate with families and other staff on services and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Current MN teaching license in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or Academic and Behavioral Strategist (ABS).
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff.
Working Conditions:
- Classroom, office, lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, keyboarding, etc.
- Physical ability to attend to personal care needs of students, if necessary.
Pay Information:
- Daily rate ranges from $289.00 to $403.76 depending on education level.
