TITLE:  Teacher                         FTE:  1.0FLSA STATUS:  Exempt           WORK CALENDAR: 186 days new hires/183 days returning teachers                              ****COMPENSATION:  Certified Teacher Compensation Guide (starting w/Prop 301 monies) $60,004

 

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Creates and designs lesson plans, instruction, and assessment aligned to Arizona Academic Standards
  1. Communicates with parents in a timely manner
  2. Presents accurate information
  3. Is highly qualified to teach the content area
  4. Uses content material appropriate to students, content area, and academic standards
  5. Uses resource materials, procedures, and models related to the lesson
  6. Deals with students in a fair and impartial manner, promoting positive self-image/concept
  7. Models, requires, and promotes a feeling of mutual respect and courtesy
  8. Creates an atmosphere conducive to verbal and or nonverbal activity
  9. Provides constructive feedback/criticism to students
  10. Follows a logical sequence of instructions
  11. Plans instruction and activities which address identified objectives
  12. Relates and or integrates materials to other disciplines
  13. Organize resources to facilitate the achievement of objectives
  14. Provides focus for the students at the beginning of lessons
  15. Obtains responses, assesses learning, and adjusts instruction in order to provide students the best opportunity for academic success
  16. Provides opportunities for students to practice concept skills
  17. Utilizes a variety of techniques and methods to provide instruction at higher levels of thinking
  18. Communicates expectations for appropriate classroom behavior
  19. Ensures that students are supervised at all times
  20. Keeps accurate grade and attendance records
  21. Models professionalism through speech, dress, and actions
  22. Adheres to Arizona Department of Education and District policies, rules, and regulations
  23. Performs other duties as assigned  | | KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDTo perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications for this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required | | Education / Certificate The teacher must have a valid Arizona teaching certificate for the position to which the individual is assigned1. The teacher must be able to obtain either a Provisional SEI endorsement, a full ESL endorsement, or a full Bilingual endorsement
  24. The teacher must be able to become highly qualified in the core content for the position to which the individual is assigned
  25. Current and valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card Communication Skills1.Strong writing, literacy, and communication skills; uses effective communication strategies to             interact with a variety of audiences      2. Bilingual communication is beneficial Computer Skills1.
