Region 10 Public Schools is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and student-centered School Psychologist who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and families. In this role, you will be a valued member of a multidisciplinary team that believes strong relationships, early intervention, and responsive support are essential to student success.

The School Psychologist provides a thoughtful balance of assessment, consultation, intervention, and counseling. You will collaborate with educators and families to identify students’ strengths and needs, develop effective supports, strengthen social-emotional and behavioral skills, and remove barriers to learning. As an essential member of our evaluation and Planning and Placement Teams, you will contribute clinical expertise, help guide comprehensive evaluations, and support the development of meaningful, individualized educational plans.

We are looking for someone who communicates well, values collaboration, and approaches students with curiosity, compassion, and a strengths-based mindset. The successful candidate will have opportunities to:

  • Build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues

  • Provide individual and small-group counseling and intervention

  • Consult with educators to strengthen classroom and schoolwide supports

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations that inform instruction and programming

  • Help teams develop proactive approaches to academic, behavioral, and mental-health needs

  • Contribute professional expertise and leadership to the PPT process

  • Participate in a districtwide commitment to ensuring that every student feels known, supported, and capable of success

Qualifications:              

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in a combination of the following areas: 

 

  • CT Endorsement for School Psychologist 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Contribute to a positive school climate 

  • Ability to provide high quality professional services and sound practice to the whole school community.

  • Experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of learning, behavioral, and social challenges including emotional disturbance, autism, intellectual disabilities, high functioning autism, and/or school refusal 

  • Ability to provide a variety of intervention approaches across the mental health spectrum. 

  • Ability to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and make appropriate changes in response to that data 

  • Work proactively and collaboratively with team members for individual student and whole-school outcomes 

  • Knowledge or practice in the areas of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and/or Scientifically Research Based Interventions (SRBI) 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams, community service providers, state agencies, outside service providers and families 

  • Demonstrate teacher-leadership qualities to bring initiative and innovation to the department in the above areas
