Avoca Central School is seeking dependable and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Substitute Food Service Helpers for the 2026-2027 school year. Substitute Food Service Helpers assist with preparing and serving meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming cafeteria environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and serving meals and snacks.
• Set up and clean food service areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food and supplies.
• Work cooperatively with food service staff, students, and school personnel.
• Perform other food service duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Dependability and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
• Willingness to comply with all applicable health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
