The School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee is in need of a Long Term Music Substitute at Wilson Elementary. Applicants must be certified teachers with a current DPI license or hold a Substitute Permit through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
Assignment: Wilson Elementary, Music Teacher The rate of pay is: $188.06 per full day assignment and $94.30 per half day assignment
Substitute dates: 8-25-2026 to 10-12-2026
Position Requirements: *Implement existing lesson plans in a manner that ensures the integrity of academic time and motivates students to learn and participate *Instructs students regarding a variety of classroom topics and courses of instructions *Follow Lesson plans as required by school and WAWM district policy *Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students in accordance with lesson plans *Address the various learning styles of students accordingly *Model correct use of spoken and written English language *Demonstrate professional practices in teaching
Classroom Management: *Maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with WAWM policy, state , and all applicable laws and regulations. *Ensure adequate supervision of students and the classroom environment to assure the health, welfare, and safety of all students *Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials, and school property *Remain in classroom and monitor students at all times *Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to school principal or school personnel immediately *May supervise students in out-of-class settings (e.g., assemblies, lunchroom, schoolyard *Experience with urban students in a technology rich, personalized environment is preferred.
