The Woods educational philosophy intends to promote a strong sense of personal responsibility in each student that will help prepare him or her for high school graduation, for college and university education, and for life. As our students progress from Kindergarten through 12th grade, we strive to enable each student to maximize his or her own potential through an academic program which becomes gradually more rigorous and in which each student is supported and challenged as an individual. Woods Charter School offers a challenging and stimulating curriculum that incorporates both the NC Standard Course of Study and the Core Knowledge Curriculum in grades K-8. Grades 9-12 follow the NC Standard Course of Study (College/University Prep) and have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® courses developed by the College Board. The "Woods Way" is the phrase we use to describe the high value we place on academic excellent, collaborative community, our passionate and caring faculty, parental volunteerism and support, strong relationship, compassion and inclusivity, and finally we value an awareness of and engagement wth the world that compels students to active lives of service.
