GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Instructional Innovator is a member of a cross-curricular, district-wide team responsible for implementing the district's instructional vision and for creating, supporting and leading innovation solutions for Sycamore Schools. This position takes an active role in leading and facilitating administrators, teachers, staff and students in an innovative approach towards educational improvement. The Instructional Innovator is responsible for developing and providing both instructional and technology training for staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Innovative Leadership
Designs, communicates, and monitors a shared vision, mission, and values that align with the district priorities and goals.
Identifies, monitors, and communicates trends and innovative learning approaches, authentic technology integration; specifically, trends that impact education and instruction.
Explores and experiments with innovative teaching approaches as well as new technologies for the purpose of evaluating their positive effects on enhancing innovative learning opportunities and student achievement for staff and students.
Teaching and Learning
Leads and supports teachers in the use of innovative teaching practices as well as the authentic integration of technology to enhance and personalize learning.
Develops lesson plans and model resources.
Provides in-classroom model instruction and related resources.
Identifies and coordinates classroom-based pilot projects.
Participates in curriculum development and revision meetings.
Identifies and provides curriculum-specific resources.
Designs, implements, and sustains personalized professional development opportunities based on data, research, and best practice trends.
Reviews software and technology programs for integration into curriculum.
Assist in implementation of special technology programs.
Professional Development
Works with District Leadership in planning, implementing and providing instructional and technology training.
Develops training plans and schedules
Conduct professional development sessions.
Develop and maintain professional, personal skills and knowledge necessary to execute the functions of the Instructional Innovator.
Participates and leads local, state and national professional learning opportunities.
Other duties as assigned by District Leadership

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and administration. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, agencies, teachers or members of the school community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to administration, staff, public groups, and/or Board of Education.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum bachelor degree in education and eligible for Ohio teaching licensure.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication. Ability to use computers where applicable. Demonstrate knowledge of relational database skills. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
