Intervention Specialist (High School)
Employment & Assignment
The successful candidate will be employed by the Portage County Educational Service Center and will be assigned to teach at Towpath Trail High School in Akron, OH.
Towpath Trail is a non-traditional high school serving students who would be traditionally enrolled in grades 9-12. These students may have fallen behind in earning credits, have difficulty passing state required tests, are at risk of dropping out of school, or just need a new environment in which they can succeed.
Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license to teach children with disabilities
Experience working with at-risk students
Basic computer/technology skills
HQT in math preferred
Provide an educational program for students as defined in the IEP
Works cooperatively with classroom teacher, interpreting the abilities and disabilities, assisting with intervention strategies, modifys geberal education curriculum as needed, and assists stduents with regular class assignments
Communicates regularly with parents and professional staff regarding socail, emotional, academic, and personal needs of stduents
