Job Goal:
Appropriate interaction with all students and their parents, and work in close collaboration with other teachers within the department, colleagues, and the school administration. Description of Duties:
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the common core state standards, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning:
- Plan and execute lessons aligned to common core state standards within 5th grade curriculum
- Provide differentiated learning experiences for the range of skill levels and developmental needs of the students
- Adapt lessons for students with IEP's or Section 504 Plans, as appropriate. Participate in Special Education staffing with colleagues and parents
- Administer progress monitoring, benchmarking, and common assessments. Analyze data results to guide instruction
- Have a working knowledge of RtI and the referral process
- Submit lesson plans to Principal or designee as required
- Discipline students in a fair and consistent manner, aligned to school district approved policies and procedures
- Maintain regular communication with parents. Maintain individual webpage on school website
- Maintain all instructional spaces, including the outdoor facilities with the health and safety of the students and staff in mind. Report any unsafe conditions to school officials
- Complete all records and reports required by law and as requested by the school administration in a timely manner
- Meet accepted standards of professional behavior
- Exhibit professionalism and commitment through punctuality and attendance
- Attend staff meetings, professional development, and serve on staff committees, as appropriate
- Contribute to fostering a spirit of team and collaboration with all faculty and staff
- All other duties as assigned
- Passion for working with intermediate students
- Illinois Professional Licensure (Elementary K-9)
- Excellent communication skills
- Adept at consistently incorporating technology in instruction
- Experience with NWEA MAP, AIMSweb or EasyCBM, and IAR, a plus
- Bilingual, a plus
- Driven to excel at teaching and learning
- Highly motivated self-starter, with tireless work ethic, needing little direct supervision
- Sustain a culture of high expectations
- Serve as a wholesome role model for students

4th Grade Teacher reports directly to Principal and/or designee
Terms of Employment: Salary and benefits in accordance to Teacher’s Contract :
$48,851 to $67,262 depending on degrees and years of experience. Credit for up to 10 years of teaching experience.

Start Date/Work Hours: 8am-3pm - Monday- Friday, except on days when there is a staff meeting, mentoring meeting, a committee meeting, which goes until 4 pm. Late hours for P/T conferences and Parent Literacy or Math Night as well as 8th Grade Graduation are
required.
New Hire Orientation - August 5 and August 6, 2024 (8am-3pm)
Voluntary Staff Training Days (paid), but highly encouraged - August 7 (8am-3pm) and August 8 - (8am-1pm); Back-to-School Bash - August 8, 2024 (3:30-5:30pm).
Teacher Institute Days - August 12 and August 13, 2024 (8am-3pm); First day of school - August 14, 2024.
**Any meetings that are not a part of the contract will be paid at $50/hr. Also, opportunities for afterschool tutoring and summer school at $55/hr. Possibility of coaching positions as well per the contract.**
