Evening Culinary Arts Instructor - Clay County High School

*This position is grant funded and based on enrollment.  Should there be insufficient enrollment, the program will not be offered.  

Position: Part-time, Temporary Culinary Arts Instructor 

Job Description:
The Clay County High School Career and Technical Center is seeking a qualified and passionate Culinary Arts Instructor to lead a community evening class. The instructor will be responsible for teaching adult learners both foundational and advanced skills in the art of baking and pastry. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Developing and delivering engaging, hands-on lessons covering a variety of culinary techniques.
• Instructing students on safe food handling, sanitation procedures, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
• Guiding students in the preparation of a range of food items, including baked goods and savory dishes.
• Managing ingredient inventory and ensuring the kitchen is clean and organized.
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to help them improve their skills. 

Qualifications:

• Proven subject matter expertise, demonstrated by a combination of professional experience, training, and/or relevant certifications.
• Significant experience in the culinary arts, including but not limited to commercial kitchens and sales, with a strong understanding of industry trends.
• Culinary or pastry certification is highly preferred (e.g., ServSafe, Certified Pastry Culinarian).
• Previous teaching or training experience is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to teach and motivate adult learners of varying skill levels.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a kitchen environment. 

Terms of Employment:
Two evenings per week, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The class will run for approximately 12 weeks, from October 2026 to December 2026.
