Description
ANTICIPATED SUPERVISOR OF STUDENT SERVICES
12-Month Position
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Supervisor Certificate.
- New Jersey certification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC), School Psychologist, or School Social Worker.
- Demonstrated knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Special Education and Student Services Leadership
- Oversee and coordinate all special education, related services, MLL services and Section 504 programs for eligible students.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state special education regulations and district policies.
- Coordinate the development, implementation, and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 Plans.
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the district's Multilingual Learner (MLL) program and services in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Prepare agendas for Child Study Team and Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) meetings and assist in facilitating these proceedings.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records for classified students and students receiving Section 504 accommodations.
- Consult with teachers and staff regarding instructional strategies, accommodations, modifications, and student support services.
- Coordinate evaluations and services provided by outside consultants and related service providers.
- Visit and evaluate outside facilities and programs to determine appropriate out-of-district placement recommendations.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations of special education programs and services and recommend improvements to the Superintendent.
Leadership, Supervision, and Staff Development
- Assist the Superintendent in observing and evaluating certificated and non-certificated staff in accordance with state and district evaluation procedures.
- Utilize supervision, professional development, and performance evaluation to support continuous staff growth and improved student outcomes.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and recommending candidates for employment.
- Serve on the district Professional Development Committee.
Planning, Compliance, and Fiscal Management
- Prepare and coordinate all required state reports, grant applications, and special education submissions in collaboration with the Superintendent and Business Administrator.
- Develop, manage, and monitor budgets and grants related to special services.
- Participate in regional, county, and state professional meetings related to special education and student services.
Salary $110,000-125,000.
