Job Title: Electrician Job Summary
The Tooele County School District is seeking an Electrician to oversee the care and maintenance of all buildings and help maintain a safe and sanitary facility for students, employees, and the public. They will ensure that all assignments are completed in a safe, proper, and timely manner. This role supports Tooele County School District's Strategic Model, which promotes creating safe learning environments and resource efficiency. The ideal candidate prioritizes student well-being, effective collaboration. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Facilities Maintenance Director.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of electrical processes.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Electrical experience and knowledge in motors, pumps, electrical troubleshooting, working with a variety of voltages (24, 120,208, 240, 277, 480).
- Journeyman or Apprentice license preferred.
- Good working knowledge of commercial electrical systems.
- Electrical experience in both AC and DC voltage.
- Electrical experience with commercial fire alarm systems.
- Ability to run conduit in many different circumstances.
- Experience and competence working with computers.
Essential Functions
- Availability for on-call work.
- Ability to work well with diverse groups of individuals.

- Ability to work well with the public.
- Ability to lift 100 lbs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights if required.
- Ability to run small equipment, i.e., backhoes, snowplows, man lifts, etc.
- Ability to operate various power and hand tools.
Safety Requirement
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used in performing duties.
- Wear appropriate safety gear, including masks, as needed.
- Must comply with the school district's chemical hygiene program and follow the GHS protocol.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include working under limited supervision using standardized practices and methods, completing tasks efficiently and economically, and maintaining a positive work environment while serving a large, diverse group of individuals.
Non-Essential Functions
Other duties as assigned. Work Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and significant fine-finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 45% walking, and 45% standing. Requires working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, wind, heavy rain, snow, and freezing temperatures.
Qualifications:
- 21 years of age or older
- Must have two (2) years of related experience in facility maintenance.
- Valid Utah Driver's License & Evidence of Insurability.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a K-12 Education or public employment environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Starting Salary: Support Professional M2 - 24.42
