School Secretary, Alexander Batcho Intermediate School (ABIS), Manville School District
Full Time, 12 Month Position
The Manville School District is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-oriented 12-month Secretary to serve in the main office of our middle school. The successful candidate will possess strong office management and communication skills and demonstrate exceptional proficiency in data management and state reporting requirements, including the use of Genesis, NJSLEDS, and other district information systems. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and a commitment to maintaining confidential student and administrative records while supporting the daily operations of the school.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Secretarial or administrative office experience required
- School main office experience a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills
- Experience with student information systems and data reporting platforms, including Genesis and NJSLEDS, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy and follow-through
- Proficient in computer applications and able to quickly learn new software systems
- Experience with Google Workspace and purchase order processing preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information
- Positive, professional demeanor with a commitment to providing outstanding service to students, parents, staff, and visitors
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors in the school's main office
- Maintain accurate student and administrative records and assist with required data management and state reporting requirements
- Support school operations through scheduling, correspondence, filing, and general office administration
- Prepare and process documents, reports, and purchase orders as assigned
- Utilize district technology platforms and databases to ensure timely and accurate recordkeeping
- Collaborate effectively with administrators, faculty, and district personnel to support daily school operations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee

COMPENSATION: In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/MEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position in the 2026-2027 school year starts at Step 1, $63,680 - Step 8, $70,905. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
