Anticipated Opening
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the components of a comprehensive developmental counseling program, child growth and development, strategies for effective educational planning, learning assessment and diagnosis, research related to learning, and the resources available in the school and community to assist secondary students
- Exhibit enthusiasm and sensitive interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and educators concerning the needs and abilities of all students as related to social-emotional and/or educational growth
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and resources especially related to at-risk students
- Broad knowledge of testing and evaluation, theories of individual and group counseling techniques, and secondary school counseling program design
- Experience managing student database systems
- Experience working with at-risk students
- Minimum experience as determined by the board
Requirements:
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate: School Counselor endorsement or eligibility required
- Required criminal history background check, fingerprinting and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal resident alien status
Salary & Benefits:
- Per the established WEA Salary Guide ranging from $56,000 - $105,677
- Full-time staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription, Dental and Vision benefits.
- Sick and personal days are included per the WEA contract.
