Reports To: Assistant Superintendent - Personnel Services
EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: July 1, 2026
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- To operate a multi-line switchboard to relay incoming calls, welcome visitors, and serve as a positive public relations advocate for the school district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Exhibit effective working relationships with staff and school community.
- Have a service-oriented personality
- Effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual preferred; not required
EXPERIENCE:
- None
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Operate a multi-line switchboard and direct calls to specific personnel.
- Handle telephone calls in a polite and informative manner
- Greet visitors
- Respond to telephone inquires regarding school programs and activities
- Give directions to visitors, clients, and school personnel
- Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- None
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
- Reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Writing simple correspondence
- Effectively presenting information in one-on-one to clients, guests, and employees of the school district
Physical demands/environmental factors:
- Prolonged sitting, talking, listening
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
- Moderate noise level in work environment
