Job Title: School Psychology Services Assistant
Pay Program: Support Staff/Non-Exempt
Pay Range: Range 19 $30.19 - $33.63 *Pending board approval
Work Year: 10 months (196 Days / 8 Hours)
Reports to: Special Education Coordinator
Direct Reports: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Summary
Operating under the direction of a Special Education Coordinator and the supervision of a licensed School Psychologist, this position supports the evaluation and eligibility process by assisting with proctoring assessments, observations, data collection, and documentation. This position helps organize evaluation materials, coordinates with case managers and school staff, and performs assigned tasks that contribute to timely, compliant psycho-educational evaluations. This role provides indirect student support and participates in meetings or student activities only at the request of the supervising School Psychologist.

Education and Experience
Acceptable demonstration of acceptable education and/or experience will be at the sole discretion of the District.
- Bachelor Degree in Psychology or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
- Enrollment in a graduate level program for school psychology preferred
- Two years of experience working with children and adolescents preferred
- School district experience preferred
Licenses, Registrations or Certifications
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Valid Colorado driver's license or valid Colorado identification required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to frequently travel among district facilities and into the community
- Child and adolescent development, learning processes, and behavioral principles
- Basic concepts of educational psychology and special education
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible with collaborative critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to provide support in a professional and approachable manner
- Commitment to handling sensitive and confidential information with the highest ethical standards
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and various stakeholders
- Ability to lead, communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
- Ability to follow applicable federal, state, local laws and Board of Education policies, in addition to building and department procedures
- Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
- Ability and willingness to adhere to attendance requirements, including regular and punctual employee presence
- Ability to maintain honesty and integrity in all aspects of the job
- Knowledge of evaluation and eligibility processes related to identification under the IDEA and the Colorado ECEA Rules
