Description:

Substitute Paraprofessionals and Teachers needed on a continuous basis to support absences, vacancies, loa/fmla, and teachers in special education classrooms at various locations throughout Lake County, Illinois for the 2026-2027 school year. Gages Lake School (Gages Lake, IL): K - 5th grade EL/ALT, SAB (Shaping Appropriate Behaviors)

Gages Lake School is designed to support students who face significant emotional and behavioral challenges. The program emphasizes the delivery of therapeutic interventions tailored to each student's unique needs, helping them navigate social and emotional hurdles while also fostering academic growth.

Fairhaven School (Mundelein, IL): K - 12th grade, LASSO 3 

Fairhaven School is a therapeutic public day program that serves students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. We provide a highly individualized and supportive environment for students with specific educational needs. Our highly structured environment, featuring a 1:1 student-to-teacher ratio and individualized teaching methods profoundly impacts students' progress.

Sector Program (31 school districts of Lake County): EC - 12th grade LASSO I & II, Vision, TAB (Teaching Appropriate Behaviors), ELS (Education Life Skills), ECH (Early Childhood)

The SEDOL Sector program provides students with a variety of challenges an appropriate education within a general educational environment. Highly qualified professionals teach in Sector classrooms within schools throughout SEDOL's 31-member district. The SEDOL Sector and Itinerant programs ensure academic and social success for all students in their least restrictive environment, as close to their home district as possible.Educational success encompasses the ability to effectively communicate wants and needs, tolerate change, manage sensory and emotional regulation, and follow classroom rules, not just meet academic standards.

Qualification:
STA (Short - Term Approval)

  • high school diploma, official high school transcripts, or GED

ELS (Para) License

  • associates degree (60 college credits), ParaPro Test score of 460 or higher

SUB

  • bachelors degree or higher


Salary/Perks: 
Non-certified staff - $140 per day, after subbing for 20 days increase to $150 per day.

Certified staff - $155 per day, after subbing for 20 days increase to $165 per day. 

Flexible schedule of choosing what days you want to work, offer 5 days of paid training also
