OBJECTIVE: 

The High School Principal serves as the educational leader and chief administrator at Heights High School, overseeing a staff that works to meet the District's commitment to providing an excellent education to every student through an equity lens.  The successful candidate will collaborate effectively with school and District staff in order to promote academic achievement and high standards for behavior and school climate.  The successful candidate will have a diverse background in education, including experience in curriculum development, social-emotional learning, organizational planning, program evaluation, extracurricular activities, personnel management, financial management, emergency procedures, facilities operations and dynamic communications.
 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as the head administrator and instructional leader at Cleveland Heights High School
  • Provide transformational leadership to achieve academic excellence at Heights High School and help each student be prepared to succeed in college and career
  • Develop, support and lead multiple teams in order to achieve the goals of the school's building level action plan.
  • Collaboratively set, implement and monitor goals designed to ensure that all students in the high school receive a high quality, well-rounded education.
  • Communicate effectively with the entire school community, including students, staff, parents and community members
  • Recruit, hire and  develop staff in order to meet the strategic goals of the school.
  • Consistently use data to guide decision-making and resource allocation
  • Pursue growth opportunities that enhance professional performance.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Ohio Administrative Certification / License
  • School administrative experience
  • Ability to establish working relationships with colleagues and function as part of a cohesive team
  • Successful teaching experience.  Effective organizational planning and project management skills
  • Strong knowledge of effective curriculum development, pedagogy and assessment practices.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and implement program options, auxiliary services, and curricular materials that support the diverse learning needs of students
  • Ability to work in a diverse school setting and community
  • A track record of dynamic, results-driven leadership
  • A commitment to implementing the district equity policy.
  • A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous High School Principal experience
  • Previous experience in AP, AVID, and/or Career Technical Education
  • Previous experience working with community partners, cultivating relationships that enhance the school community
