Description: Assistant Nutrition Services Worker
Position Summary: Assist the nutrition services team in kitchens and cafeterias by performing one or more of the following tasks: Moving grocery from freezer and refrigerator storage areas to the service and prep areas, preparing food, taking inventory and placing orders as needed, setting up food for oven or cold services, setting up the cafeterias areas, serving students, operate the point of sale system and cashiering during breakfast and lunch when required, cleaning up all areas in the kitchen, including cafeteria tables and chairs after meals are served and other duties as assigned.
Assist cooks in the set up of alternative lines by cutting up vegetables, lettuce, opening items, stocking milk and juice in coolers, preparing condiments, determining what supplies are needed and assisting in the storage of items. Assist in the overall preparation of food for all locations.
Serves food ensuring correct portions are given out and that health and safety standards are met. Records and updates daily food production records and meal counts required by state guidelines. Replenishes food items and cleans serving areas between lunch periods.
Assist with putting away food and condiments after last lunch following proper sanitary and safety procedures.
Performs cleaning and sanitation duties including washing equipment, dishes, tables, counters, and picking up trash.
Assist with putting away new inventory; organizing and cleaning store rooms, coolers and freezers. Lifting of product up to 30 lbs is required.
Follow all HACCP rules and regulations.
Hours: 9:30-2:00 (4.5 Hours on All Student Days plus 2 days before school starts).
Pay Range: $20.75 - $22.90
