Description

Hours Per Day:  8

Salary:  $17.00 per hour.

Supervisor of Position:  Maintenance and Custodial Supervisor

Qualifications:  Must be 16 years old and have a valid Driver's License. 

  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform physical work for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull supplies, furniture, and equipment.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to learn proper cleaning procedures and safe work practices.
  • Must meet district employment requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous custodial, cleaning, maintenance, or manual labor experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.
  • Current high school senior status may be preferred, if applicable to the district's summer student worker program.

    Summary of Duties:
  • Assist custodial and maintenance staff with summer deep cleaning of classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, gyms, cafeterias, and common areas.
  • Move, lift, and arrange furniture, desks, chairs, tables, supplies, and equipment as directed.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and clean floors.
  • Assist with stripping, waxing, and refinishing floors under supervision.
  • Clean windows, walls, doors, lockers, furniture, and other surfaces.
  • Remove trash and recycling from assigned areas.
  • Assist with cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and other high-use areas.
  • Help set up or take down areas for summer programs, projects, or building needs.
  • Follow directions from custodial supervisors, maintenance staff, and building leads.
  • Use custodial and maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment safely and properly.
  • Follow all district safety procedures and workplace expectations.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional attitude while working with staff and other employees.
  • All other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements: This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive cleaning tasks. The employee may be required to lift and move items such as furniture, custodial supplies, trash containers, and equipment. Work may take place in classrooms, hallways, gyms, restrooms, cafeterias, outdoors and other areas of the school building.

Work Schedule: The summer schedule may vary based on district needs and building assignments. Hours and work locations will be determined by the Custodial Supervisor or maintenance Supervisor.
