Park County RE-2 School District is located in the beautiful high plains of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Our valley is nestled within a ring of white-capped mountains. This National Heritage Designated Area preserves a deep heritage and varied history! Our campus is located in the seat of Park County, in the town of Fairplay. Fairplay is an old mining town at an elevation of 10,000 feet. We have everything from a living history museum to art galleries, breweries and a distillery, a community recreation center with a pool and fitness center, fairgrounds, fine dining, and more. Our campus is only 35 minutes from world-class skiing in Breckenridge. South Park is full of elk, deer, antelope, and moose are abundant. If you like to hike, camp, fish, or ski, then welcome home!
Our campus is home to Edith Teter Preschool, Edith Teter Elementary, and South Park Middle and High Schools. We are the home of the Miners (for the elementary school) and the Burros (for middle and high schools)! Students attend our schools from the surrounding towns of Alma, Jefferson, Como, Hartsel, Guffey, Lake George, and of course, Fairplay.
