Description

PARK COUNTY RE2 SCHOOL DISTICT IS ACCEPTING APPLICATION FOR A FULL TIME COOK within the Food Service department. The ideal candidate within the Food Service Department will begin with the 24/25 School Year (in August).

Under the general supervision of the Director of Food Service, to assist in the preparation and serving of food in a cafeteria. Maintain the food service area, facilities, and equipment in clean and sanitary condition and perform related work as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: *Assist in the preparation, packaging, and serving of food. *Assists in maintaining proper care of equipment and sanitation of the kitchen *May act as a cashier, collecting money, making change, and counting totals. *Maintain open communication with students, faculty, and the community. *Maintains cooperative working relationships with District and site administrators. *Performs such other food service-related duties as may be required or directed.

Knowledge of: *Basic methods and materials used in the preparation, serving, and transporting of food. *Food preparation methods include washing, cutting, assembling, and wrapping foods or ingredients. *Basic food serving utensils and equipment *Basic sanitation and safety procedures related to the preparation and serving of food.

Ability to: *Stand for sustained periods of time. *Work efficiently during rush conditions. *Count, add, subtract, and tally series of numbers. *Make change quickly and accurately *Understand and carry out oral and written instructions *Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work. *Demonstrate dependability and cleanliness.

Job Qualifications Experience: *Some paid or volunteer experience in the serving and preparation of food is desirable. *Any combination of training and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills.

Physical Demands: *While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell.

*The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: *While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a kitchen environment. *While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally subjected to extreme cold and extreme cold. * The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
