JOB TITLE: Elementary Literacy Coach
LOCATION: Madison Elementary School
START DATE: Fall 2026
SALARY: Per MEA Master Agreement
DESCRIPTION
The Elementary Literacy Coach supports the district's instructional program by working collaboratively with teachers and administrators to strengthen literacy instruction and improve student achievement. The Literacy Coach provides job-embedded professional learning, instructional support, and coaching to classroom teachers in the areas of reading, writing, assessment, and intervention practices. The coach serves as a resource to promote effective instructional strategies and data-driven decision-making across elementary grade levels.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate elementary endorsement(s)
- Minimum of five (5) years successful elementary teaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of literacy instruction, intervention strategies, and assessment practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support elementary teachers in implementing effective literacy instruction aligned to district curriculum and instructional best practices.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to analyze student achievement data and develop instructional strategies to improve literacy outcomes.
- Provide coaching, modeling, and professional learning opportunities focused on reading, writing, and intervention practices.
- Assist with coordinating literacy assessments, monitoring student progress, and supporting intervention programming.Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) based on students' strengths, needs, and goals.
