Description
LEARN, Southeastern Connecticut's Regional Educational Service Center, invites candidates to apply for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) opening at the LEARN Transition Academy in Niantic, Connecticut for the 2026-2027 school year.
General Scope of Responsibility
The SLP-A will provide direct treatment to students to extend services of the Speech Language Pathologist and varied levels of consultation to other adults on behalf of the students.
Relationship Within the Organization
The SLP-A will be responsible to the Director of Special Services and supervising Speech Language Pathologist.
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide direct treatment to students as prescribed, directed and supervised by the certified/licensed SLP and by team goals and objectives.
- Provide varied levels of consultation to other team members and appropriate adults on behalf of the student as determined by the supervising or designated Speech Language Pathologist.
- Contribute to monitoring and adapting student programs.
- Prepare and assist with progress reports and daily notes.
- Maintain equipment and materials.
- Perform other duties associated with the assistant SLP position.
- Meet with supervising Speech Language Pathologist as appropriately determined.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field required.
