Title: Special Education Teacher: Resource Program

Location: Carroll High School
Details: Our Resource Program supports students with mild disabilities within the general education setting by providing individualized instruction, accommodations, and supports throughout the school day. Students participate alongside their general education peers to the greatest extent appropriate, with support from special education staff.
This position oversees the A.C.E. (Academic & Career Excellence) program at Carroll High School, designed for students pursuing the Alternate Diploma pathway as an extension of the Resource Program.
Students in the A.C.E. program:
- Participate in modified English and/or Math instruction within the special education setting
- Participate in additional modified courses within the general education setting, with support
- Develop pre-vocational and career-readiness skills during their freshman, sophomore, and junior years through school-based opportunities
- Participate in supported community-based vocational experiences during their senior year with assistance from a Job Coach
The teacher in this role:
- Oversees and collaborates with a Job Coach who supports students in both on-campus and community-based vocational learning experiences
- Works closely with the Resource/Mild Disabilities team as part of a cohesive special education department
- Partners with instructional assistants, general education teachers, related service providers, school staff, and families to create an engaging, appropriately challenging, and inclusive learning environment for students
Licensing Required: Indiana Teaching License – Mild Intervention (or the equivalent) at the specified grade levels. Transition to Teaching or ASSET candidates will be considered with demonstrated steps toward an IDOE approved program.
