Description
We are a New York State Special Act public school district serving over 260 students aged 5-21. Our focus is on providing comprehensive education and support for students with special needs, from early childhood to adult life, empowering them to achieve independence and community integration. We serve students with a range of needs in classes with low student-to-staff ratios. We serve students from Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster counties, as well as the five boroughs of NYC. Greenburgh Graham is part of the NYS Teacher Retirement system.
We are seeking a tenure track teacher in Visual Arts to teach high school students; many of whom present with significant academic and behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will be skilled in state-of-the-art educational strategies and behavior management techniques and have experience incorporating social-emotional learning into the curriculum.
Certification/License:
- NYS Certification as an Art Teacher or as required for position.
- Certification in Students with Disabilities preferred
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Masters Degree preferred.
Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level and/or subject is a plus.
