Position Title: Media Secretary (10 Month Position)
Department/Building: Harrison Elementary & Lowell Elementary
Reports to: Building Principals
Assignment: 2026-2027 School Year - Ongoing
Hours: 8 per day, Monday through Friday (218 Duty Days)
Salary Range: $20.39 - $21.42 per hour (Based on education and experience; wages outlined in the Certifie Contract located on district website)
Union: AFSCME

**This position will be working at two different buildings during the day. Travel will be required between these buidings each day.
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the principal or other administrator to provide clerical, secretarial and administrative assistance to school administrators at a school site, conveying information regarding school functions and procedures; and supporting the broad array of services provided to students, parents, instructional and support employees.
- Assist, support and maintain the Destiny Library system, handling all data input, inventory and student/staff use.
- Conduct orientation for each class at the beginning of the school year.
- Establish checkout schedules with each class at the beginning of the school year.
- Maintain the physical order of the library.
- Assist staff in locating and using library materials for classroom use/projects.
- Repair damaged library materials.
- Prepare new items for use by students and staff.
- Schedule the use of the media center for special meetings and classroom use using Google Calendar.
- Remove out-dated material at least once a year using the "weeding" process.
- Ability to create forms, lists and reports as requested.
- Prepare book and supply orders for purchase with appropriate requisitions.
- Have the ability to work professionally with all students, staff and public entities.
- Assist in maintaining the building copy machine needs.
- Prepare and post daily announcements to both staff email and school website.
- Relieve building secretaries for their lunch break.
- Travel between building daily is minimal.
- Maintain building book room
- In charge of making the building yearbook (Harrison only)
Additional Duties
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school.

Equipment
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travel between Harrison Elementary and Lowell Elementary on a daily basis is required. Limited travel to and from meetings at other buildings may be required.

Qualification Profile
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- Graduation from high school.
- Successful experience with office management is preferred.
