Position: Coordinator, Instructional
Supervisor:Director of Curriculum & Instruction
Work Site:Central Consolidated Administrative Complex

 

Summary:The instructional coordinator shall perform such duties as delegated by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. He/she will be responsible for implementing the coaching and support of the instructional program for all schools for the District under the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and in cooperation with other directors, coordinators, principals, instructional coaches, teachers, parents, and instructional assistants. The Instructional Coordinator will share in the development, application and interpretation of District and administrative policies.  This grant funded position is contingent upon continued funding.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate, enlist, engage, and assist Principals in implementation of required and desired programmatic needs and supports, as listed below:
    • Data Driven Decision-Making
      • Identifying Layer 1, 2, 3 Students
      • Annual Plans and 90-day plans
      • Schoolwide expectations for Data Analysis
    • High-quality Core Instruction and Interventions
      • Supporting identified research based instructional and intervention strategies
      • Selection of High-Quality Instructional Materials as defined by NMPED.
      • Interim, Formative, and Progress-Monitoring Assessments
    • Informed and Effective School Leadership and Systems
      • Observation and Feedback Cycles
      • Job-embedded professional learning
      • Systems for supporting professional learning and implementation
      • Professional Learning Framework
    • Collaboration Processes for Providing a Layered Continuum of Supports
      • Scheduled time for both grade level and content specific teacher teams
      • Weekly teacher team meetings to analyze data, identify interventions, plan collaboratively and discuss instructional impact.
    • Positive School Culture and Climate
      • Establishing school wide behavioral norms
      • Implementing non-punitive supports
  • Manage, implement, and support the NM Prek Grant.
    • Timely communication with ECECD and PED.
    • Submit monthly and quarterly reports.
    • Provide professional development for teachers and EAs.
    • Attend ECECD and PED program meetings, virtually and in-person. 

 

Specific Actions to Support Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and model effective data analysis conversations with principals
  • Support principals as they lead PLC's (analyzing data and leading discussions about Layers 1, 2, and 3 students and the instructional best practices that would support learning and growth in needed areas
  • Work with principals to train school-based leadership teams to analyze data and determine Layers 1-3 student needs followed by research of best practices, selecting research-based.
  • strategy and/or intervention to address need,  complete gap analysis, plan school-wide professional development, implement new practices and analyze results.
  • Share pedagogical methods with coaching staff and principals on the curriculum to empower  them to support teachers as they integrate research-based best practices in instructional strategies and school culture.
  • Provide support and professional development for principals aligned with district instructional priorities.
  • Work with principals and coaches as they assist and support teachers in learning district programs.
  • Support district and school efforts to keep CCSD safe and secure
  • Complete and comply with all required trainings annually
  • Adhere to NM Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession 

 

Support and Supervise Assigned Coach 

  • Develop Materials Adoption spreadsheets with what was ordered, how many for whom, what was included, when was it delivered, online links/memberships, support materials, etc.
  • Support teacher PLC teams in data analysis and identification of aligned instructional and intervention strategies necessary to meet the needs of students
  • Create, Design, and Implement Professional Development in identified instructional and intervention strategies to meet the needs of students
  • Provide Observation and Feedback support for coach, aligned to the district model, including Self-Assessment, Professional Development Plan, Mid-Year Review of PDP, End of Year Review of PDP.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Master's degree
  • Valid New Mexico Teaching License Level 3 or higher
  • NM Public Education Department administrative license
  • Minimum of five (5) years classroom teaching experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years administrative experience which must include one (1) year of building level Principal-or equivalent experience preferred 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Knowledge of Dine language, culture, and history preferred
  • Skilled at customer service and communication

 

Physical/Job Requirements: 

Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, driving a vehicle, traveling long distances, writing, typing, word processing, reading, researching information, and effective communication skills.

 

Safety and Health: 
  • Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions
  • Completed and cleared background check
  • Pass drug test if required for position
  • Knowledge and compliance with district and school Safety Plans

 

Equipment/Material Handled: 
  • Multimedia equipment, including current technology
  • Equipment/materials relevant to the job responsibilities
  • Valid driver license and insurable by district if necessary
